1. Assign someone to alert emergency services; also, this is a public space, there may be a AED available, send someone to get it/inquire for it. 2. Assess the safety of the scene. 3. Assess the person down (breathing? pulse?). 4. If pulse and respirations are present, do NOT initiate chest compressions. 5. If one or both are not present, initiate CPR (if neither present, chest compressions only can be effective; if the AED is present, attach it and let it analyze the heart beat. 6-20. Inquire at your local community center/school/Red Cross to learn all the steps so you can be helpful in an emergency!
