He most likely had dark hair. Darryl is his son-in-law. Wanda is his daughter.

Not only that, the others’ caps remain! What are they made of??

What amazes me is that Daryl has TWO red haired children even though Wanda’s hair is pitch black. In the multiple-red haired families I’ve seen both parents have red and/or lighter colored hair.

Genes are random, and recessive genes even more so. My red hair came from a grandparent on one side and a great-grandparent on the other. No milkman needed.

I’ve seen references to “the end of the world is coming soon!” so often in my lifetime I can’t count them. No one can tell the future but we can examine the past and make comparisons.

In my marriage it’s the opposite. I have no problem asking for help; husband would rather leave the store empty-handed than ask.

Doesn’t matter. Pearl also show up occasionally. That’s still no reason to misname his wife if you read the strip regularly.

@Limpid Lizard… ever consider Earl isn’t perfect? It’s sexist to call Opal a shrew; Earl is certainly no paragon, but I don’t call him names.

Please remember that Earl is not married to Pearl. Names don’t rhyme. That may help you remember that Opal is his wife.

As a child, I would agree with the little girl who can think and reason for herself. …if they did less testing, they wouldn’t have so many cases. My daughter, who was about 11 at the time, immediately commented, “You’ll still have as many cases; you just won’t know about them.” If I lived with folks who didn’t agree, I’d stay quiet, but still think for myself. Don’t you?
