There’s a superstition about that changing the name of your club or business will make it prosper.

Been going on for forty years that I’ve personally witnessed.   I’ll bet that the practice is older than writing.

It’s worse than that.   We rampage in all directions doing everything we can to make the situation worse .

When I wrote stories, I always had to cut off the first few pages.   Once I got three more stories out of the offcut.

Today (Friday, 24 May 2024) I was logged in on my first “log in to comment” — and also returned to the page I’d clicked “comment” on.

Could it be that it’s been straightened out?

I opened a directory of go-comics in tabs, read the first tab, tried to sign in (I always read first, because “sign in to comment” means “teleport me somewhere else”), click-clicked on the Captcha-failed page a few times, repeated on several tabs, then clicked “sign in” at the top and got in first try.

It will all be entirely different tomorrow.

It was always “click-click” rather than “click” because the square marked “remember me” was always re-checked and I had to uncheck it again.   I wonder what it means?   I don’t notice any difference when I forget to uncheck it.

Finally snapped and looked up that it’s a singer.

I’ve seen many, many posts complaining about people talking about her, but I’ve yet to see a post talking about her.

Essential.   Often hotels give you a choice of absolute, tour-of-Mammoth-Cave DARK, or “I can see all the bones in the hands I’m trying to protect my eyes with — and my eyes are closed.”
