In India, pre-1948, the Brits would tie the condemned to a cannon and basically blow them apart. That was quick. the other trick was have an elephant squash their head. Nice stuff. The electric chair, in all of its forms, was not particularly quick. Some non-conductive victims lasted for a long time before finally dying of heart failure.

Actually no. It can be related to what you are playing but not necessarily. I played 1st Chair trumpet in high school and college; we, as an example had 5 first (parts), 4 second (parts) and two third(parts). Orchestras you are closer with (probably) 2 first parts (1st and second chair), 2 second parts (third and forth chairs), etc.

I use Firefox on a desktop and I do encounter this problem. I glanced through the page source but gave up trying to figure it out.

1910, when the first aluminium foil rolling plant, Dr. Lauber, Neher & Cie. was opened in Emmishofen, Switzerland. The first use of foil in the United States was in 1913 for wrapping Life Savers, candy bars, and gum. Yep, that makes her considerably ahead of her time. Aluminum was first discovered in 1825 by Danish physicist Hans Christian Ørsted, was so hard to refine it was considered a precious metal. Frederik VII’s general’s helmet was made of aluminium, by J.B. Dalhoff, c. 1859.
