I remember a short story about how there was an isolation barrier that could be set up to protect the world from violent countries. The offending country would be “sealed” so that the movement in or out of the place was on foot (no vehicles, no weapons, etc.). It was a dystopian tale, but the idea would be useful these days.
My parents had mice. They caught about 2 gallons worth in one of those bucket traps. Instead of using water in the trap, mom put in crackers and stale bread. They drove them out to the town dump and released them there. (Only about a mile away from their house.). They had to repeat this process on an infinite loop, since they didn’t block up the gaps that the mice used to get inside. Eventually, my sister brought in two young cats and the mice haven’t been seen since. :)
I can see dogs wearing diapers, but never a cat.
