To children, especially younger children things in their imagination ARE “real” (or alive), including monsters under the bed, or their imaginary friends, or a stuffed tiger (or maybe a snowman) coming to “life” (though apparently stuffed tigers don’t need a magic hat for that).

As adults we know some things aren’t possible, like stuffed tigers (or snowmen) coming to life. Some things may be “real” if only allegory to help explain or cope with real or imagined fears (like the monsters under the bed to explain unknown noises in the night, or actual events the child can’t cope with).

“Imaginary” friends could very well be that children are more open to the possibilities of this world and other worlds and see beyond the veil that separates our world from an unseen world. At least until that ability, that sense of wonder and acceptance is indoctrinated out of them.

Sometimes imagination DOES come to reality. Da Vincis helicopter, Vernes’ submarine for instances.

Not that I gave it much thought, but to me, Hobbs comes to “life” whenever Calvin is thinking about him, or needs him. A constant friend to a single child who helps Calvin make sense out of life and a counter point to Calvins internal conflicts. I do “just” enjoy the comic, the (sometimes twisted) imagination of Calvin. His snowmen (or goons) are some of my favorite strips.

You’re confusing real with alive. A stuffed animal is real, just like a rock is real, or a house is real. People can see it and touch it, etc. That doesn’t make any of them alive

Hobbs is real, there can be no dispute about that. Even Calvins parents can see Hobbs

Calvin has a very active imagination, and at times a bit of a twisted one (though amusing, at least if you’re not his parents, or babysitter), just like many children from when Calvin comics were authored and before the “medical” community started drugging our kids in to what they claim is “normal”.

To the uninformed, the least intelligent and those with reading and comprehension issues I’m sure it appears that way. That is way Democrats love the least intelligent, the least informed, racists and anti-semites, and why China pays so little to you trolls.

I suspect you miss the irony of you telling others to get a life while you’re on GoComics constantly.

And with Constand he did admit to it being consensual, though I can believe drugs were involved. Come on man, have you seen her? Two paper bags and lots of drugs, or maybe a guy just released from 20 years in prison.

People, guys included, say a lot of things, that doesn’t mean they’ll act on them. I’ve told my daughters to never accept an open beverage from a guy (unless it’s one they know well and for a long time, then it’s a maybe) because it could be spiked, that doesn’t mean I’d ever spike a drink.

Up to a point I don’t care about a celebs private life. Rock Hudson and Mike Brady were gay (among others). Family dynamics because of it I’m not concerned about.

I do draw the line at child molestation. Not the “molestation” of a 16 year old who’s passing herself off as 18 or older, or one who puts out in hopes of a job then later tries to claim victimhood. People like Epstien do annoy me as do his customers of any party.

Awww, it’s so cute when a liberal tries to sound intelligent (and fails spectarcularly).

It seems the truth triggers you, while you project your anger onto others.

But, no, liberals don’t cause those, though they do lie about them. They (you) are responsible for the enslaving the black people on the welfare plantation, the huge spike in crime and drug deaths, violence with guns, racism, anti-semitism, hetero-phobia and anything that is good and decent in this world.

Says every Biden defender (do read Ashley Bidens diary, it’s on line now)

In the case of Bill Cosby there is no evidence to support your accusation. Harkening back to the good old Democrat days the antebellum south and the KKK, all there is is an unsubstaniated accusation by a white woman against a black man, so he MUST be guilty

Ah, yes, an accusation from 50 or so years ago, where the “victim” can’t remember much of anything (including the year it was alleged to have happened), by a white woman accusing a black man in an era where #AllWomenBelieved (unless they accuse the “wrong” person) and an accusation, no matter how old or baseless, is an automatic guilty verdict. The richer and blacker the accused the better.
