It’s absolutely hilarious to me that the Right still clings to their tired old bogeymen (or in this case, woman) to rile up their adherents, just like Trump keeps repeating his same old tired sore-loser whining. All they have is culture wars, bogeymen, and scare tactics.

There are no reports of Israeli pilots bragging to their parents about killing civilians in Gaza. There is, however, audio of a Palestinian calling his parents on October 7 to brag about the ten Israeli civilians on a kibbutz he murdered in cold blood and getting praise for it (http s: // www.youtube. com / watch?v=bACNYtaLBQI), and Hamas terrorists posting a videos of slaughter to victims’ Facebook accounts so their families would see it (https : // www.nytimes. com / 2023/10/17/ technology/ hamas-hostages-social-media. html).

Jimmy Kimmel: “Paying a woman to keep her quiet about having sex with you while your wife is at home with your newborn baby isn’t illegal. What’s illegal is falsifying records to make it a business expense, which he did so his supporters wouldn’t find out he’s a lying, cheating scumbag. But the joke is on Trump because it turns out his supporters don’t care that he’s a lying, cheating scumbag. He could have saved himself a whole trial and 130 grand.”

I think there is too much documentary evidence that this was not merely paying a lawyer for the jury to find him totally innocent. However, I suspect that either it will be a mistrial because of a hung jury or they will find him guilty of illegally falsifying business records but not agree that it was to affect the election and therefore it’s a misdemeanor and not a felony.

Illegally falsifying business records with the intent to commit or conceal other crimes is what raises Trump’s actions to the level of a felony – the desire to keep the encounter with Stormy Daniels quiet so it would not be made public before the election actually is part of the formal charge.

sigh RFK Jr was not invited to the debate because it is exceedingly unlikely that he will meet the requirement to be on enough state ballots by June 20 to potentially win a majority of Electoral College votes.

Thanks for the spaces trick, which I didn’t think would work. (For my link, just delete all ^ characters.)

This is a really, really weak attempt to tie a past statement by President Biden that an uncle who died in WWII whose body was never recovered might have been a victim of cannibals in Papua New Guinea (a region that actually did have tribes practicing cannibalism as late as 2012 – https^:^/^/^/^world^/^cannibal-cult-members-arrested-in-png^/^Z23IDSCRRHSDOHPBHHUNZY3XVQ^/^?c_id=2&objectid=10817610) with a head-scratching bizarre ramble from Trump in his endless speech at a campaign rally in New Jersey about what a great guy “the late great Hannibal Lecter” was, not the first time he’s mentioned Lecter in a speech and it’s unclear whether he is actually aware that it’s a fictional character:

“Silence of the Lambs. Has anyone ever seen The Silence of the Lambs? The late, great Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man. He oftentimes would have a friend for dinner. Remember the last scene? ‘Excuse me. I’m about to have a friend for dinner.’ But Hannibal Lecter. Congratulations. The late, great Hannibal Lecter…"

No, in fact the paying of the hush money is not the crime with which Trump is being charged. The actual crime is that Trump illegally falsified business records by classifying his reimbursement of Cohen, executed by the Trump Organization, for the hush-money payment as legal expenses.

And if she had done that, 911 would have told her to hang up, and anyone else to whom she would have reported it would have told her it was her fault for going to his hotel room to have dinner in the first place.
