Not through but rather against. The warning indicated they are using shadow and light reflections to determine key positions and since they are recorded, typing speed is of no protection. My brother in-law, a retired cyber security geek for the Air Force, told me that they are probably using a specialized algorithm to decipher our movements. He explained to me that on some older screens they can decipher shadow and light against the inside screen frame as well. Apparently most newer screen frames fit too tightly and are no longer made of glass to do this.

Hopefully they will be the ones who have to be there with him.

Why does am I imagining their broken English as being in a Russian accent?

Several years ago, I noticed the light come on without my accessing it so I purchased the stick-on shutter that I can open and close at will. I had found that there was no off switch in the app, and I was unwilling to delete it. the shutter works great and doesn’t interfere with laptop closure, so I feel secure in its effectiveness.

Man, that is going to be the worst Secret Service duty assignment ever.

Just because a person is paranoid doesn’t mean someone isn’t out to get them.

You want to be careful using a Post-it note because hackers have been known to determine keystrokes with screen reflections if they cannot see your actions directly. The FBI gave this warning about a year ago.

I was experimenting with voice text once when I spilled a little coffee on my lap. I let out an expletive and the laptop immediately provided a definition for it. I went back to manually typing.

Maybe they fainted from the realization that he’s eating a chicken salad sandwich. Or he fed them a little and the birds are proof that his wife is trying to kill him.

This is why I bought one of those little sliding lense covers for my laptop. it was dirt cheap and whenever I need the camera, I can just slide it open.
