We would occasionally get pizza slices of a sort in the school cafeteria, and, compared to a lot of other school cafeteria food, we considered it a treat. Before that, I’d only had pizza (of a sort) that my mother made from a boxed kit from the grocery store, but at the time that seemed like a treat, too. Pizza as available to me today is incomparably, almost infinitely better, but I wouldn’t mind tasting the fondly remembered ersatz pizzas of my childhood just one more time.
Snowboarding events have turned out to be my favorite kind at the Winter Olympics, so maybe I’d enjoy breakdancing events more than I anticipate, though probably not enough to get me to tune in the Summer games to begin with.
Actually, alliteration involves the beginning sounds, not of words, but of the principal accented syllables of those words. The beginning sounds of the accented syllables here are *A*Lways a*V*OID al*L*ITeration. So alliteration has indeed been successfully avoided!
I can’t shake the notion that if you opt to be a herbivore rather than an omnivore you are practically inviting carnivores to eat you. (I am not claiming that this notion stands up to reason.)
