What I’ve heard from them is a lot closer to R&B, but maybe it’s not a representative sample.

At least they got good music! (A far cry better than Tori Amos.)

So it’s ready to eat in 3 years, I guess.

Everyone knows that Chip’s specialty isn’t photorealism. Just go with it.

Lots of people leave bad marriages without walking away from their children. You’re not making a great case that it’s OK to not see your kid for many years, unless you’re in jail or otherwise institutionalized.

    > She has a new one every time she empties the last one. This has been answered many times, and I can’t figure out why people think it’s always the same bottle.

I guess people don’t pay that much attention. I remember seeing a pallet (or more) of bottled water in Rita’s home kitchen.

We recently got a new LG that’s almost silent. Then learned there’s a class-action suit over the often-short lifetime of the nearly silent compressor. :-(

PSA: Luann also demonstrated something else they teach you in CPR class: never say “someone call 911,” because that’s almost a guarantee that no-one will; always say “you [specific person] call 911”. (Greg changed it up a little to comic effect.)

Really, my question was motivated by my observation/sense/feeling that most of Jr’s supporters came from MAGA ranks (as should be pretty clear from the way you describe them), so it didn’t seem to me that he’d be hurting Biden’s chances at all, but rather the opposite. But I haven’t seen any polling to show that’s true, and it’s based on a pretty unscientific sample. (See my above comment for why I’d much prefer a scientific basis.)

I hear your argument, and I really appreciate you taking my request seriously, and your serious consideration of the whole thing. (Sadly, it’s refreshing to see serious consideration of anything in this forum these days.) I definitely see your point, and will be considering it. I may even be persuaded by it (at some future time — I don’t make such decisions quickly).

My question was mostly motivated by my sense that the vast majority of Jr’s supporters seem to be previous Trump supporters, so his running seems to be hurting Trump much more than Biden. But I don’t think I’ve seen any actual polling to support that feeling.

Why am I hoping for polling? I’m trained in science, and believe that the worst influence on human civilization in the past millennium has been the Romantic movement, which taught people to make decisions with their feelings. It’s no coincidence that most histories of philosophy count Nazism and Stalinism as descendants of Romanticism: I’d suggest that even if you don’t agree with my point about decision-making, any philosophy that led to the murder of so many millions, and wartime deaths of many more millions, and “missed” only Pol Pot among history’s worst mass murderers, doesn’t deserve a pass.
