Lynn’s Comments: When I did the strips about Michael working in a supermarket, I made up the name “Megafood” thinking it was unlikely that any grocery store would take a name like that. I was wrong. There IS a chain called Megafood!
Lynn Johnston is incorrect. There is a food supplement company called Megafood. I found no grocery store chain with that name.
As a testimony to how much time Michael spends partying and not studying, he is blissfully unaware of what it takes to get an actual degree in journalism (a Master’s degree program at Western).
She could, but it is actually in character for Michael, a person who has never taken his education seriously, to be blissfully unaware of what he needs to do to get his degree or what program he is actually in. I knew rich kids like that in my university days, who were only there to get some degree because their parents wanted them to, and then after that they work in the family business.
