Speaking of Slim and the “Road” - where IS the Reverend? He has had enough time to walk into town by now. BTW - how come no Wallet kin in the congregation - as they are in the Sunday supplements?

Much as I do not want to encourage your rants “NotNorman” - sorry, but many of your posts are just that - “imbecile” is not an appropriate assignation to someone who keeps the Diner in good order while the (1) Owner; (2) Cook(s); (3) Dishwasher(s) decide to go on their own pursuits of happiness while leaving her alone to try to cover.

Sorry Bill (IF you actually read these occasional posts), but I don’t find this funny. Your past exercises in social commentary have been amusing - this is just real life recreated via your apple images to do what? Depress those of us who might have seen/read “MaxedOut” but still are in a difficult situation not of our fault?

Oh, Oh Set the “wayback machine” Sherman. Looks like we are going back to the days of Frank King.

Although there are no doubt regional differences you might want to try www.foodservice.com. Look for their “food trivia” section - it provides translations for some of these items.

Zeppelins in a fog refers to Sausages and Mashed potato - which I guess is close to the British “bangers and mash”. As to “burn the british and let the sum shine”? Toasted english muffin with eggs sunnyside up. If you want more answers you might try www.foodreference.com.

Still not sure why the cook is dispensing the coffee. Ah well, burn the British and let the sun shine.

Actually, I suspect that “baled hay” is a bowl of shredded wheat (or maybe “shreddies”?). Not sure about “naked”, as why wouldn’t the waitress pour the java from the urn behind the counter?
