I have never found out what the allure of tofu holds for people. My wife loves it and I am a foody. I love just everything from foie gras to oysters on the half shell, but tofu leaves me cold. Give me Rocky Mt. Oysters any day, but you can save the tofu for my wife.

Sorry Margueritem,Peeps come preruined. I’d rather eat tofu. They’re one of those things that I’m glad only come around once a year. Well, they used to, now there are peep 4th of July stars and peep turkeys and peep Santas. Apparently you can make anything out of peeps, much like tofu! We’d get peeps when the kids were little, and at the end of the day the only candy left was the peeps. But that’s ok, it’ll be just as good next year!

@DypakPro: Try a microwaved peep or a peep cooked over a fire. So much better gooey!

    Out-of-the-box Peeps aren’t so great.

Peeps now come in different colors and shapes for several events around the year. I recently bought purple Peeps for this Easter and have had cute Peep bunnies of some forgotten color in previous years. And Halloween black cat Peeps with charming little whiskers.

The official Peeps (reg. TM) website http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/ shows there are also Valentine’s and Christmas products. Worth a visit.

I used to enjoy putting them in the microwave and letting them blow up really big, then taking them out really quick and sticking a fork in them while they’re still poofy: BAM! Peep soup! (It didn’t taste any less disgusting, but it was fun.)

Perhaps the ultimate condemnation of tofu came from a bagpiper I know: “Tofu tastes pretty much like nothing at all.”

Why hasn’t Mr. Amend picked up on the following brilliant parody?

    http://www.lordofthepeeps.com/

    How about these?

From my (limited) experience, that’s right… tofu tastes pretty much like nothing at all.

Someone trying to use it for its taste isn’t using it right. You use it to add texture to a dish that’s got enough flavor on its own, as a healthy filler.

Tofu is something you need to cook with other stuff. It absorbs the flavours of the other ingredients. What Andy is doing to it is just wrong!
