Since when is being anti-genocide a bad thing? If all of the energy directed at protesters were redirected to finding a solution for the d!ck measuring contest in the Middle East, perhaps there would be some kind of resolution. But-hey…that takes actual thought and not knee jerk reactions.
And therein lies the rub. It’s almost impossible to boil down complex situations to something that will fit on a bumper sticker, unfortunately that seems to be the length of the average person’s attention span in today’s world.
But… but… complex things are HARD, and I never learned to think analytically, so I want the TikTok version of this election so I can get back to letting Fox tell me what to think.
And yet, while her position is fine, the people in the crowd using the opportunity to carry signs calling for a “final solution”, threatening Jews with violence (oh but yes there are many of those in almost all of these little protests), refusing to allow students that actually want to learn to attend class, and causing destruction to property………see, THAT is what is not allowed.
I think that sign sums up how most of us feel. Oversimplifying the slaughter of innocents into a choice between black and white issues, good and evil, when there is only evil intent, is a mistake. Killing innocent people is bad no matter who does it! Two evils do not make justice!
It troubles me that “anti-Semitic” has come to mean anti-Jewish, especially when one is using it in the current context. The term “Semite” refers to “any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language, including both Jews and Arabs [and others].” This is appropriate because both Jews and Arabs are descendants of Abraham [descendant of Noah through Shem], who had lots of sons [among whom were Ishmael, the ancestor of Mohammed, and Isaac, ancestor of the Biblical Hebrew kings and prophets]. So, anyone who is “anti-Semitic” should be against both Jews and Arabs, not just Jews. I don’t know when the term “Semite” came to be narrowed down to refer only to Jews but it just seems wrong — as if it is a way of denying that ancient familial relationship.
refer to the comment from end of the world above to see how our right-wing pals wrestle the discussion back to their talking points, even when the statement is as reasonable as the one in today’s strip. they don’t want to discuss; they want to berate…
How about a slogan to justify the slaughter of women and children?
The stuffed shirts, that rule the schools, sure get their panties jammed up their butt-cracks, when the kids are camping on the lawn, But, natanyahoo and his israeli Einsatzgruppen don’t worry them at all.
For the students, protesting and otherwise, an important lesson to be learned. Rich, fat cats don’t care about anyone, except themselves. Same as it ever was.
This is the problem Democrats always have. Republicans run on two or three word, usually hate filled, slogans while Democrats have to explain the nuance of their positions

“It’s not very catchy.”
