“ When the need arises – and it does – you must be able to shoot your own dog. Don’t farm it out, that doesn’t make it nicer, it makes it worse.”
Those who don’t live in a farm or ranch environment and are criticizing Noem, do not understand that this is sometimes a necessity. If you have a vicious dog you have to put it down before it might hurt somebody. It’s not an act that anyone takes pleasure in and from what I understand it wasn’t a puppy but 14 months old. At that age bad habits are set in place and can rarely be untrained. My nephew had a vicious dog that was only tolerant of him and his mother. The little bastid even attacked and bit me. Eventually it got to be a problem with their neighbors and after a number of incidences the police showed up with animal control, took him and terminated him. Even my other sister who dearly loved animals and had a dog grooming business said there was no redeeming that kind of animal and it should be put down. Personally I have no problem with what she had to do , it was sad but needed to be done.
Noem’s take is that she is tough, killing two animals while in an emotional rage, then writing about it in a book because everyone in town knew about it and it would come out eventually. I read it as killing two animals in an emotional rage, period. The last thing we need is two people given to fits of rage within arms length of the nuclear codes.

It’s always hard to put down one of your animals. It needs to be done but it’s hard.

What’s the big deal, Ramirez?
After all, The Messiah could shoot a woman on 5th avenue in broad daylight, and all the MAGAts would give a standing ovation.
Noem shooting a puppy just shows how ‘strong’ she is. All MAGAts admire such ‘strength’.
