On the long run, the country is doomed. Even if we avoid the Trump bullet in November the fact that so many people are willing to overlook Trump’s crimes leaves open the possibility for a a more articulate and charismatic version of Trump winning in the future. We narrowly escaped descending into dictatorship in 2020. We might not be so lucky the next time.

This is the most anti-American concept I’ve witnessed in my life. It’s like I’m living in a cuckoo clock that this is even a topic for discussion.

On a more serious note, good on Ramierez for plying his talent as an illustrator to the danger Donnie poses.

It is my optimistic nature to believe that a Donnie 2 dictatorship would be more a hot mess than the death knell of the republic, but we really should not take that risk. As the line goes, when ya dance with the devil, the devil don’t change, the devil changes you.

Ooooh, this is a good one. For those not familiar, this is a callback to the portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte’s coronation, by Jacques-Louis David. The original painting hangs in the Louvre and is absolutely gigantic. After seeing it two inches wide in so many textbooks, I was stunned upon visiting Paris to turn around a corner and see how enormous the real painting is. Napoleon was not a humble man. Trump is, of course, a very pale imitation, likely to meet his Waterloo sooner rather than later.

The Supreme Quacks want to make Maga King Trump above the law and change the USA into a right wing Christian Nationalist country, everything the founders of the country and the writers of the Constitution tried to prevent.

Wow, stunning artwork, Michael. I don’t believe the SCOTUS is considering absolute immunity and that’s not what President Trumps attorneys were asking from what I heard having listened to the presentation. Ridiculous scenarios such ordering a SEAL team to assassinate a political or committing murder were floated and was made clear that these types are not what they were talking about. But, the President must be given a large amount of leeway and the benefit of the doubt for the actions ordered, decisions made and his speech while in office.
