I don’t know what bums me out more, that one of Galen’s fans grew up to be a bank robber, or that he defaced a good comic book when a Post-it note would have sufficed.
and maybe the loot is there and maybe someone beat her to it and maybe there is a clue to the next location and maybe it’s just a mad mad mad mad mad mad world.
….maybe the suitcase contains (only) the army uniform from the Spanish-American War that “Big Daddy’s” daddy left him as an inheritance? (you could mix THAT up in this story as convincingly as some of the other stuff we’ve seen here in the past few years…)
1-CLEANCUT: Wow. 3 clues – Go to the library, go to the park, find the rock with the “X”. My kid has gone to birthday parties that featured tougher “Treasure Hunts” than that.
2-BOWLING LEAGUE (from his position on the ground): From here I can see why they call you “Butter Face”. You got a smokin’ bod BUT HER FACE!CROPPIE: SMACK HIM WITH THE SHOVEL AGAIN AND MAKE IT COUNT THIS TIME!
3-CLEANCUT: Whoa! Louis Vuitton! Can I have it? CROPPIE: After I get the cash – I mean my half. Now toss Bowling League in the hole. Oh. And after that, hand me the shovel and close your eyes…
Given how bad this is I would not have been surprised if Croppie & Co. had found a big wooden sign on a post, tapped into to the ground, with the wording, “Scardahl’s loot buried here.”
I’m glad Mike didn’t drag out the treasure hunt. This is something. It’s moving right now. I think Mike threw in the Hatmobile to remind us how bad he could actually write it. On the other hand, watch the Hatmobile be the setup for the next arc. Indeed, it not only can be worse, it will be worse.

3 days of the ratmobile, all for nothing!
What a silly time filler.

Good morning™, all!
Jackpot! At least it seems to be. You don’t find many suitcases randomly buried in parks.

Yeah, nobody’s gonna notice a couple of people digging up a big hole & carrying off a large suitcase in a public park in the middle of the day.

So once he carries the suitcase back to the car, she kills him. Or vice versa? (Well, tries to kill . . .)

I don’t have time to list how silly this is. I’ll go back and read Sunday’s strip. BO Plenty makes more sense than this.

I’m sure the “Hatmobile” will be involved in a massive chase scene.

It was actually under a rock marked “X”?
It looks like it was buried lengthwise. That’s a heck of a dig.

Anyone want to bet that the suitcase Croptop and Company uncovered is NOT Scardol’s loot?

With the spade on the other side of the guy from Croptop, what’s she going to use to whack him?
