My mom’s border collie chased squirrels and never caught them until a young one in a panic jumped toward the dog instead of the tree. Landed right in her mouth. She clamped down on it in shock. Gave an instinctive shake to break its neck. At that point, she knew exactly what to do with it. She became a mighty squirrel hunter at that moment.
