I find it interesting that polls are worthy of notice when a Democratic president is low, but not when a marjority of the public are for abortion and gun control or when the radical conservative justices bring down the Supreme Court approval.

A lot of presidents have had bad poll numbers but were more kindly remembered by history. Americans are well-known for not being able to see the big picture. And Congress has fed that by not thinking long-term, and thereby putting band-aids where much more needs to be applied. Anything that might be hurtful in the short run but helpful long-term will cause most Americans to find fault and poll accordingly.
