Yes, yes we are the shining city on the hill. The ideals of American governance - We the People - fired the imaginations of citizens all around the world, from Vietnam to Ireland, South Africa to India – and Dog forbid, even here at home, that all are equal with equal say in government.

We gotta long ways to go still in order to live according to those ideals, but we’ve come such a very long way already.

America is corrupt because human beings are corrupt. We’re working on it. With a little luck & stick to it each generation will move us that much closer to our dream.

Nothing wrong with American Democracy as a form of government. It’s the greedy self-serving authoritarian dictatorial types who get leverage to abuse and use it at a slow pace to meet their own ends who create our social and economic problems.

The effort to make it a very quick pace means going straight to the 1/6 Plans. If unsuccessful then try again…and that faction of Americans with foreign help will keep trying.

How are the police pension funds?Anyone check out David Sirota article in the Guardian? Private equity and pension funds?“… the unholy alliance between some unions and Wall Street firms flew under the radar, even as pension funds were ravaged by fees. But with warnings of write-downs and losses getting louder, the dynamic could change.”

These coming 18 months are going to be the worst in American political history.

They say Republicans are in a race towards the bottom. But they never say WHY. The answer: because that’s where their voters are. They eat this stuff everyday and all day.

But what about the rest of America? Republicans no longer care. They used to try to win over enough swayable voters with middle-of-the-road issues, but they’ve abandoned that. Why? Again, because of their voters.

So, how can they win elections by pandering to a small-ish sector of the populace? Because we have such low turnout rates for elections. Their strategy is NOT to attract new voters, but instead to keep their voters mad—furious, really—to get them to come out to the polls in greater-than-normal numbers. Trump proved this in 2016. As we run up to 2024, every single candidate for the Republican nomination will be trying to out-Trump the others—including the original. And their voters will eat it up. They can win with a minority of America because they’ll keep it close with high turnout. Voter suppression, gerrymandering, and the un-democratic nature of the Senate and Electoral College will take care of the rest.

That’s the plan, anyway. So, look for more and more disgusting actions from the likes of DeSantis, Noem, Abbott, and any other Republican in office (any office), whether or they’re a candidate for the presidential nomination. Fire ‘em up and march ’em to the polls (while simultaneously keeping the opposition from doing the same. It’s the only way.

Trump tried to take the place apart because he lost the election and knew it.

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Trump Campaign Plots To ‘Fan Flames’ of Big Lie in Leaked Strategy Session — TWO DAYS After Election

Trump campaign official was caught on tape telling staff that President Donald Trump’s “comms” team would continue to “fan flames” of election denial — just two days after Election Day 2020.

In the first of the two clips Bauer shared, Trump Wisconsin campaign chief Andrew Iverson tells staff that “comms” is going to push the stolen election claim and in a potential admission of bad faith, says to be ready to “pull stunts”:

Here’s the deal: Comms is going to continue to fan the flame and get the word out about Democrats trying to steal this election. We’ll do whatever they need. Just be on standby if there’s any stunts we need to pull.

The second clip features Iverson boasting about the campaign but admitting defeat in the state:

At the end of the day, this operation received more votes than any other Republican in Wisconsin history. Say what you want, our operation turned out Republican or DJT supporters. Democrats have got 20,000 more than us, out of Dane County and other shenanigans in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Dane. There’s a lot that people can learn from this campaign.

    Bauer notes:

The meeting showcases another juxtaposition of what Republican officials knew about the election results and what Trump and his closest allies were saying publicly as they pushed the lie of a stolen election. Trump was told by his own attorney general there was no sign of widespread fraud, and many within his own administration told the former president there was no substance to various claims of fraud or manipulation — advice Trump repeatedly ignored.

The pioneer democracy. Got a LOT wrong. Those that came after, of course, did it better.
