What—there’s a “walled-off addition”? And a “weird room with purple wallpaper”? (At least it’s not yellow . . . ) Now I want to know even more about the BPH!
I would also like to see a postcard from the weird room with purple wallpaper. O.o And about that walled-off addition, now…is there a little door? Does it open on bricks? Do whispers come out of it at night? Is there only one key to it? Because now we’re edging into Coraline territory, and I am there.
Ummm … why would anyone wall off an addition? I mean, this being the BPH, I’d have to rule out creepy murder mystery scenarios, so no bodies but then what else could it be? Was someone trying to hide something? Seems kind of extreme, losing an entire room just to keep a something secret …
Does Zazzle do post cards? I’d LOVE to have some BCN postcards of all the characters including the house, the farm, the neighborhood, and some of the maps and floor plans. (Or better yet, bubblegum collector cards of all our favorite cartoon panels.)
I think we might be heading back on the adventure trail for this year’s Halloween arc. At least I would love it if these random locations were connected to some spooky storyline. Hope the Robber Mice have a safe trip, and I imagine a check to see what they stole is in order.
I have always fancied an old Victorian home with a hidden room. That would be so cool. Have the entrance hidden behind a bookcase, an armoire, or a secret door in a closet. I have thought about building one; however, modern homes don’t lend themselves to that kind of alteration.
Not to apply a damper, but the walled off addition could simply be walled off from access from the interior of the BPH but still have a separate outside access point.
Beatrixia: It’s great to have the No Longer Hidden Library up and running, but I can’t help but wonder if we’ve only found a small part of what’s here.
Violet-Ifa: I know there all sorts of legends about the pyramid. Maybe some of them have the key.
Beatrixia: True, but where can we look?
Violet-Ifa: Why not start right here? Try the scrolls in the 930s.
Bea: Great idea. There are a ton of scrolls just waiting to be read.
Vi: And then we can hike through the pyramid to read the ancient hieroglyphs.
Bea: That reminds me. There was a hieroglyph by the new Cafe I was hoping you could translate for me.
Vi: Glad to oblige. I’ll take a look at it.
Sometime Later
Bea: Can you translate it?
Vi: Yes. It’s a recipe for kibble pie with decatf coffee.
Many thanks for all the encouragement sent my way yesterday and today! I’ve found a way to cover the heart monitor and take a shower, but after the first attempt today, some adjustments need to be made. I found “waterblock” tape in the wound care section at the pharmacy, and cut an appropriate size piece of plastic out of a ziploc freezer bag and taped the plastic firmly down on all sides. However, there was a slight glitch—a portion of the waterproof tape came loose and water did get under the plastic, but apparently not enough to affect the monitor, as its little light is shining as usual. That tape is very sticky, uncomfortably so, but I think maybe the moisturizers in my body wash, or maybe hair conditioner since I washed my hair, loosened the adhesive on a section of the tape. So I will take that into consideration and try again tomorrow!
Purple wallpaper? Reminds me of a This Old House renovation where the homeowners had a bedroom painted in multiple shades of chromatic purple so no matter where you stood or what time I day the room looked like a different shade. Personally, it was quite hideous and fit with their questionable decorating tastes (in my opnion anyway).

Sounds like the Winchester Mystery House. Staircases that lead to nowhere, doors that open to blank walls. Lots of fun.

Prince: Purple Rain
There’s no longer any need for hammers
There’s no need for nails
We know the roof’s no longer leaking
And now we can see each other
Laughing even when it rains!
…….
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
And now we can go the attic
Hiking through the purple room!
…….
I always wanted to the explore the old pipes
Go backpacking with my friends
I want to see what’s behind the walled-off addition
Say hi to Tillie and all have adventures without end!
…….
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
And now we can go the attic
Hiking through the purple room!
…….
And guys, I know, I know
Time to go exploring
And we’ll make sure to send you postcards
Of all that’s new, we’ll show you, too
I know we’re all so curious
And Tash and I made up our minds
We’re gonna go backpacking
And go see what’s in the purple room!
…….
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
Purple room, purple room
And now we can go the attic
Hiking through the purple room!
