Republicans can’t stand free and fair elections. They have admitted they can’t win without cheating (committing fraud). There is a lot of evidence that supports that Mitch McConnell didn’t win his election. That’s the one thing that has become very apparent, and for many has been for quite some time. If a Republican accuses someone else of wrong doing, chances are good you are looking at the one committing those crimes.

In Al’s universe, allowing all voters to vote is a no-no. Only the right people should be allowed to vote.

this is rich – republicans have a built in electoral advantage because rural votes carry more weight than urban votes and rural voters skew rightwards. as if accuracy were really what the right wants…

Does limiting access to polls, gerrymandering to create disproportionate districts, and excessive/overzealous/error-prone registration purges result in more accurate or more politically-biased outcomes?

This bs angers me. People have fought for the right to vote and now, today, we are going backwards. THIS isn’t the world I expected to live in while marching and working for ‘better’ in the ’60s and ’70s.

The Texas Attorney General came out the other day with the statement that Biden would have won Texas but for his voter suppression efforts in Harris County. This is the same guy under indictment for fraud and has been accused by his own staff of bribery and abuse of office. Typical Republican.

Al, finally, you have posted a cartoon that I can agree with! Yes the Democrats do care about accurate results, and hence the highlighter! I mean, if it was your intent to show the Democrats crossing out the word accurate, surely you would have made that clear.

Is ‘accuracy’ yet another word that has an alternate definition [an antonym] in the QAnon/“Republican” lexicon?

As long as those such as Al Goodwyn continue to flog the unfounded and totally disproved allegations that the election was stolen, this nation’s political crises will not heal.

Every time democrats bring up a bill to make elections more secure, republicans shoot it down. I wonder why that is.

What are you thinking about? Democrats are trying to get as many Americans to vote as possible, which would make the election results more accurate. Republican state legislaters have been passing laws trying to make the vote certification process pointless because they want same day results with no room for error.

If you remember what happened in Georgia, the republican officials removed more than 100,000 (mostly Democrats) who were properly and legally registered from the voting rolls and Trump still lost by almost 12,000 votes.

Election results WERE accurate – even Republican election officials admit to it. Alt-rights just want their candidates in power no matter what – they’ll embrace fascism to get it that way if they have to…

The Repulsicans have failed bigly to find any evidence of inaccurate results from the 2020 election. However, that hasn’t slowed their efforts to create some with their illegal “audits” of an election already certified with a bonafide winner with a margin of over 7 million votes. They have, however, released secured voting machines to unqualified and unscreened individuals. Guaranteed to bring evidence of fraudulent votes in the next election. Of course, THE ORANGE PLAGUE could be reinstated in August so all these efforts would be wasted. /DERISIVE LAUGHTER/ All The Repulsican Crime Family has to do is rewrite THE CONSTITUTION before August. /s

Come on Al, show us where the last election was not accurate?

You spout off and make these claims, be a man (or at least try) and prove what you said.

Interestingly, when some states began doing “mail out” balloting, getting rid of polling places entirely and incidentally — because if you mail out the ballots, they have to be basically paper — getting rid of all the proprietary and expensive voting machines… academics were interested in whether there would be an increase in fraudulent voting. And since these changes took awhile between proposal and implementation, they had — and took — the opportunity to gather “before” statistics. The results have been absolutely SHOCKING (if you are a right wing politician): There has be no increase in cheating. The amount of cheating / fraud WAS too small to do realistic statistics (Is 1 out of a million any different than 2 out of a million, statistically?) and it IS too small. Some studies come down on the side of “no discernible” change" and some of them go so far as to say “may be a slight decrease”. In every case, the way the ballots are checked for legitimacy is by comparing the signature on the outer envelope with the one on file. Note that the outer envelope is discarded after that check: there’s no way to associate the voter with their ballot after that step.

Bottom line: Fair balloting can be and has proven to be at least as “accurate” as the kind of unfairness that the GQP pushes. AND the optical scanners that are used to count the ballots have no “smarts” and thus are completely immune to any kind of hacking. Even if you managed to fiddle the setup to skip “seeing” votes for a particular candidate, the fact that the machines are regularly tested against bogus “check” ballots before and after each batch of real ones means that your fiddling would be caught before it did anything.

This cartoon was drawn by a disingenuous idiot who supported a candidate for President who said the following to the Georgia Secretary of State:

I just want to find 11,780 votes.

Protecting mail-in voting; protecting early voting; funding election security; getting dark money out of politics; ensuring voter ID isn’t treated as a poll tax; giving citizens that are released from prison their right to vote back…..yep all those are evil things that will destroy a democracy or republic.
