Republicans better be careful what they wish for. After January 21, it is a pretty good possibility that there will be a Democratic president, Senate and House and Republicans will regret having given up any power for the minority party, especially when much-deserved payback may very well be the order of the day.
What goes around comes around, and usually with interest.
Leaving Lisa wet is the idea of Republicans manipulating yet again their unique style of election fraud to favor a political party no one outside Trumpism wants and no one deserves.
After seeing the GOP’s wonderful cooperation with the previous administration and how the Merrit Garland nomination was handled, the nuclear option comes as no surprise.
Sen Grassley admitted that the Democrats were doing exactly what the GOP did to Obama, but then tried to make it about the Democrats stalling Bush nominations – although with Bush the Democrats only stalled 4 appointments, whilst the GOP Senate stalled over 370 Obama appointments.
Lisa is not old enough to remember when the Republicans were progressives and how much it hurts to see the post-Nixon changes … (e.g.) anti-education, anti-diversity, etc.
The majority of Americans now believe in basing law on the present, not the past, so Lisa’s position is all the more muddled.
Lisa’s trying to say that the Dems are dragging their feet purely for spite. But in fact the appointments they’re trying to delay (since they don’t have the votes to stop them) are at least 75% for people who are going to be every bit as good at the job as, oh, say DeVoss, or Barr: Neither smart nor even handed.
So, when Sen. Ted Cruz decided to filibuster, that was OK? Well, of course. Talking about “Green eggs and ham” for endless hours was a really vital issue!

Yeah, he’s willing to destroy any of our institutions in order to escape justice and get his way. Aren’t you glad you voted the same way Putin did?

Interesting how you forget about the eight years of obstruction during Obama.

Anyone think Benson could benefit from some basic ‘Civics’ lessons?

It will be interesting to see what happens in 2020 when LOYAL AMERICANS take the Senate and White House back from the republicans!

everybody always hates filibuster when the other side uses it. good thing political cartooning doesn’t require cleverness, imagination or humor.

Not fair; the Democrats are hitting us back first.

Republicans hate the whole concept of open debate. Much better to decide things behind closed doors, then announce the result on Fox “news”.

Once they do it the democrats will step all over them in the future.

If what goes around comes around is a quick up or down vote, I’m fine with that, regardless of which party controls the Senate.
