Pluto showed surprising signs of not being dead. You never know. And out where rocks or iceballs are far between, anything can look interesting when you haven’t seen the neighborhood before. And, while it is known to be rotating, it doesn’t show variations in brightness. There are some possible explanations for that, and some of them mean it’s a different kind of thing than you think, Mr Grinch.

I am glad that regardless of our political stripe, so many (most) of us can share a sense of awe at the wonders of the earth, and the universe.

Give Pluto back it’s planet status. It’s worth it.

“The more we learn about the world, and the deeper our learning, the more conscious, specific, and articulate will be our knowledge of what we do not know; our knowledge of our ignorance. For this indeed, is the main source of our ignorance – the fact that our knowledge can be only finite, while our ignorance must necessarily be infinite.”
