Don’t want to launch any mid-life crises prematurely.

Perhaps they’re trendy now because it shows that you have a yard large enough to fit a hammock.

Just because I want a hammock doesn’t mean I will turn out like my dad, may he RIP. Then again, I’m sure someday I will turn out exactly like him.

I don’t know whether my dad liked hammocks. He died in 1948. Were hammocks a big thing then?

We never had a yard big enough for it.

My hubs wears his old, faded John Deere “Owners Series” hat with pride. He Will not let me get rid of the stinky old thing lol!

It’s like the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. There is simply a time when these things happen.

Each morning shows what the mirror knows. What we deny is clear to the eye and that’s the way it goes.

My dad lived to 92, was happy, well-off and well-liked. I wouldn’t mind ending up like him.

In my neighbourhood the average yard is 60ftx100ft. Some of my neighbours have riding mowers and I still haven’t figured out what the advantage is. They still need to use and maintain a weedwacker and a regular mower to get into tight spots. Tell a lie, there is one advantage. Most of them have a built in or MacGyvered beer holder.

Leave the lawn alone. Less pollution of the air, water, and land. More time for the important things, like kids, de-stressing……

Ah, jungle, Suriname near the Voltzberg pluton, 1978, open sided, palm leaf roof hut, four hammocks with mosquito nets and blankets strung up side by side. Good sleeping…

Then there are childhood memories of the canvas hammocks some relatives had strung up near one of their barns. For us they had many imaginary uses, often as sailboats in squalls…
