There’s still a while to go before Halloween. No need to be scaring the children like that.

’Tain’t easy for Frank to have two ladies in his household.

Chances are, Bern has seen Luann like that at some point in all these years. Therefore, if she saw Tiff the same way yesterday, she would have had no reason to be shocked as she was. Must be something that is pretty dire…

Luann needs the body art show now. Anything would be an improvement.

First mark me as surprised that Luann’s hair comes as a result of curlers. I wonder how that works for her, because aren’t her eyebrows a part of her hair? I don’t see them, so maybe they are curled up in there with everything else.

I’m surprised frank didn’t tun and hide with puddles. I wonder what Nancy’s up to.

All the real estate and all does anymore are two panel blackouts. Seems a waste of so much space.

I think the funniest thing is how the mask asks her father to go check her and the dog from the mouse, as does her dog. They run to Frank.

Hey Now. Underneath that “Make-Up,” there is a Lovely, Caring, Sensitive Young Woman, Who’ll make Gunther a Great Wife Someday, after the “New and Improved Tiffany” is “Semi-Done,” with Him, which IS a bit of a misnomer, because Tiffany will NEVER be “Done” with Gunther, because She will ASSURE Him that She WILL Be there On His Wedding Day to LOUDLY “Object” to This Union, AND Will ALWAYS be there for Him during those times When Luann get Predictably “Flakely,” to Share Additional “Moments” and Scream His Name while is the Throes of Passion and Hilarity.

I was pulling stickery weeds out of the alley and had on a big floppy sun hat, sunglasses, work gloves, and one of my husband’s heavy denim work shirts. I walked in the house and my cat took one look at me and went straight to the top of the drapery rod.

Do women still use curlers?

Luann scared Frank’s mouth away.

Hmmmm…when she was younger, she had curly hair. So we know the secret to her straight hair as teenager – big rollers to straighten her hair out. A lot of work to do each time she washed her hair, and teenagers take baths everyday. With big frozen juice rollers, she has to wait several hours before the hair dries. Frank, Christmas is coming up – get her electrical roller heater with frozen juice sized rollers. That’ll cut down the drying by several hours.

The creature from the Black Lagoon? Run, Puddles, resistance is futile.

Curlers? What are they? Actually, I’m 83 and have used every imaginable device to make my hair look good. We’re talking stockings, socks, juice cans, big metal clamp things, plastic cylinder things with clamps, and more. Then in college most of us did pincers- sometimes every night. As a child my not-so-bright aunt used a curling iron heated over the kitchen range. Electric curling irons were a great improvement. I’ve had several kinds of steam rollers and dry heat rollers. Now i just make sure I have a good haircut and brush the hair into place and dry naturally.

The beauty treatment Luann is experiencing is as much for inner beauty as the external appearance. A girl/woman takes on a kind of radiance when she feels she has indulged in any beauty ritual. And don’t overlook the power of being in a loving relationship. I was married second time around at 77 and for the first two or three years every time I dressed up for the symphony or other special occasion, I had strangers come up to me and tell me how beautiful I looked. One time at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio I had seven people compliment me on my appearance between the ladies room and our seats a short distance away. Now own no way am I considered exceptionally attractive. But love makes us glow.

Don’t knock the beauty treatments ’til you try it.

That is supposed to be “pin curls” where you wrap a strand of hoaoir o into a small circle and hold it into place with a bobby pin or hair pin.

Don’t scar this little bundle of joy again.

Luann is growing up, and her feminine arcana should not be seen by men, or anyone else faint of heart (sic)….

Interesting play on the weekly plot…. a freak-out over someone’s appearance.

this just in …… Puddles’ namesake becomes the latest beauty regimen! ( film at 11 ).

At least between men and women (I can’t speak of same sex intimate relations when it comes to make-up) every man has seen his woman with make-up like that a few times at least. I remember when my fiance had it, or was it shortly after we actually were married, came out of the bedroom with that face mask stuff I had to hesitate before I could figure out what to say. It can be scary the first time you see it, if the beautiful woman you are with shows up with it. One thing we can feel good about, just about every woman uses face creams like that at one time or another. I think they are just more willing to do it and let you see it, IF you are a husband, brother, father; someone they totally are comfortable around, Hence to Luann, no idea that she might be scaring Puddles.

Many moons ago (actually 70 lbs and 59 years ago) I enrolled in a modeling and charm school course as a marketing ploy at a national modeling school. Two things they taught us I still practice today:1. Never let your husband see you with your hair in curlers. That includes such horrors as facial masks and waxing, etc.2. Always put on lipstick and eyebrows and comb your hair before letting anyone see you.

I don’t think she looks half bad, actually. I wonder what that says about me?

Puddles is the best character in Luann.
