How can there be such large animals on desert planets? The Sand Sharks of Mars are huge. Same on Tattooine and Arrakis. And those of Tattooine are imported some of them.

To see how Charlie turns out when grows a little older and masters the art of imagination, watch Star Trek.

the VERY poor attempt to recreate Calvin does nothing for Wiley’s reputation.

Charlie is nothing like Calvin. He is more nerdy and thoughtful. I wish kids played pretend like Charlie does. Now a days marketing does most of the imagining for them.

@Dudley DidereauxWatterson doesn’t hold a patent on cartooning the imaginative adventures of a child, and Wiley’s Charlie is a very different character compared to Calvin. Both characters are imaginative boys, but Wiley’s Charlie isn’t a recreation of Calvin. You may not appreciate the differences and you may prefer Watterson’s cartooning, but IMO your disdain for Wiley’s characterization of Charlie is misplaced.

Really enjoyed this one. You have to love a child’s imagination.

Giving a kid a motorized car is such a waste. Kids have forgotten how to exercise for fun.

I love the art in the Charlie’s World segments but somehow as a whole it’s never impressed me near as much as Wiley’s other work does.

Hi Wiley, it’s a fun trope but hasn’t it been done a million times over the decades by Calvin & Hobbes?

Camels are fairly large and indigenous to deserts. Bison and elephants will cross deserts large enough to take a couple of days.
