When I was a child, if the words “I’m bored” were ever spoken, by anyone, my mom’s voice rang out with “Find something to do or I’ll find something for you!” Mom thought boredom was good for kids.
Pity my brother and I were both intelligent, inquisitive, adventurous sorts. I mean, our parents WANTED us to be intelligent, inquisitive, and adventurous, but not to the accompaniment of explosions, screams, and destruction.
We didn’t MEAN to… blow up the shed stir up the fire ant bed and get covered in them sink the rowboat – twice let the trash fire (that we weren’t allowed to start) get out of hand (not that bad, we got it out, but our parents caught us)

We were GOOD kids, REALLY.
