I wish, from my house it is over 15 miles to the nearest FF place and not many live here, BUT I still I see FF garbage tossed onto the road. It is sorta like a paradise but seems to be lost on some!

McDonalds has removed their outside garbage cans. People that eat in their car, after going through the drive thru, have to decide, throw it down in their parking lot or do the right thing and find an appropriate place to dump it.

People who throw trash onto the ground are more trash than the trash they throw.

It’s amazing that all it takes is one non judgmental human being picking up one sack of roadside trash a day to have a huge lasting impact on the beauty of nature.

Now if only Wiz can do something about people who flick butts or drag sparking chains during wildfire danger. Ramming those b———————-s only increases the danger.

In the area in which I live, they devote a day for cleaning up litter and debris in June. It’s called Clean the Bay Day. I’ve participated along with some of my kids in a few of those events.

It seems to be true in the US that there’s no where you can go where you won’t find discarded trash. But for some reason, I’ve never seen it in Canada. From the Peace Bridge, up the QEW, all around Toronto and back – I’ve never seen any roadside trash there.

The “Don’t Mess with Texas” slogan was originally an anti-littering campaign targeting the pickup truck drivers who tossed trash in the bed of the truck and then let the wind blow it out on the roadways. Sadly, the original message got lost when the rednecks hijacked it as a “Pro-Texas” saying.

I once had to bring a bag of doggy poo home in my car. My eye doctor loves my dog and insists I take her with me to appointments. When we were leaving, I could see my dog needed to go, and she found a spot – I thought she had to pee. I pulled a bag out of my pocket (I always have bags, even if my dog isn’t with me) and cleaned it up. I looked around for a trash can, all around, and found nothing. I tossed it on the floor of my car, put the dog on the rider’s seat, and got in and drove us all home. Leave nothing but footprints. The bag, of course, went into the trash bin at home. Not in the kitchen.

About 1960 before anti-littering campaigns became a big deal, we lived perhaps a km away from a Drive In Theatre. In the morning, especially on weekends, the shoulder of the road was CARPETED with litter that people tossed from their cars on the way home the night before.

My brother’s first job, 50+ years ago was to pick up all the garbage in the large empty lot across from the restaurant he washed dishes at. (It was mostly marked with the restaurant’s name and logo.) After that, I don’t think that he was ever even tempted to litter.

Wiz, can you teach the rest of that spell so we can deal with litterbugs in our areas?
