So Wiz, did you get disappearing candy? Or does the candy evaporate?

A piece of candy got stuck in my dad’s throat at a family Halloween party.

He’s OK now, but he made some funny faces and gagging noises while working it out. A few people were disgusted by the sounds, but a few of the kids were laughing at grandpa dancing around making funny noises.

That’s just how it is with dad chokes: some people laugh and some people groan.

Why wouldn’t the crab share his Halloween candy?

    He’s shellfish.

Why are the discarded papers that once held the Halloween candy just like vocalists who have lost their rhythm, art, and poetry?

    They are both empty rappers.

We’ve all heard of the mushroom who gets invited to the party cause he’s a fungi, but what about the mushroom who stole all the halloween candy?

    He had no morrels.

There’s only just under 23 days until Halloween. That ain’t too early to set the candy out. Candy doesn’t go bad waiting to be consumed.

Wiz only has to worry if the candy was Snickers or Three Musketeers bars.

We live on a cul-de-sac which to walk the loop takes a mile. There are 30 houses on it. On the other side of the road, the houses are much more closely packed. Kids have a feel for the metric: pounds of candy per mile.

Currently we have no children of trick or treating age in our cul-de-sac. No child is going to come into our neighborhood when a more target rich environment is literally across the street.

Nonetheless, my wife buys enough candy for at least several dozen trick-or-treaters. On November 1st, we divide it into small portions in sandwich bags and freeze it. We normally finish it about August.

The candy makers of the world thank you, and the toy manufacturers thank you. Mostly Jeff Bezos thanks you. Keep up the spending.

The stores know just what they are doing putting out the Halloween candy in September. A lot of people will buy it, eat it, and buy it again.

My mom always bought Halloween candy at least twice. She couldn’t help herself, she just kept eating it. She also hid it from the rest of the family.

A bowl of candy will last for months around our house. Even when the grandkids come. I’ve watched them and they always just take one. It doesn’t seem to matter which kind of candy. Same thing with the cookie jar. My youngest granddaughter had a friend over and they went to get cookies out of the jar. The friend went to take two cookies and my granddaughter told her to only take one. We never told them they could only have one. It seems to be a rule they imposed on themselves. We have 8 grandchildren, and they all seem to follow the same rule except for one grandson. He always seems to take two cookies just as he is leaving.
