I must be one of the few who sees no humor whatsoever in Peanuts. Depressing unlikable characters, bullying, repetitiousness, and boring. Even Snoopy gets tiresome.
@ZIPPYKATZ I hate to point this out (perhaps it’s an unwanted perspective) but Peanuts is a strip about life, only occasionally funny or even amusing, often sad and deeply philosophical. Often the characters leave the readers in a state of quizzical bemusement. There is no Pastis or Watterson without first Schultz swimming in the sea of uncertainty that life is. The real question is, will we ever get to kick that football. One of my favorite strips is Charlie Brown sitting on a hillside at night looking at the stars. At first he says, “They say we only pass this way once,” and then two panels later, he says, “I wonder why I passed this way.” Isn’t he speaking for all of us? In any case, I’ve always appreciated the strip right from its beginnings in the early ’50’s. Just my opinion.

Sparky is in the top ten of Richest Dead Entertainers. Has been since the day he passed. Jeannie was smart to get him to monetize the strip.
