Ghostkeeper: I’m familiar with the cultural destruction that occurred for the children “adopted” in this country, as well as sent to schools (mostly run by religious zealots) to destroy their language and culture..
While orphan status is terrible in much of the world, notably in several countries in eastern Europe, what cultural history will these American adopters grant these kids, and why CAN’T they adopt in the U.S.? Yes, I’m familiar with the “difficulties” associated with legal adoption in the U.S., but most of those rules are to protect the kids.
Which, if we care so much for orphans, why do we keep maintaining “foreign policy” that creates so many?
