Seagull moved up to Wallace’s bed to hear the story. His predecessor is all bound up! Not nice, Ginger. Dad is not a-scared of you, except for your breath.

Gingerbeard: “Never! My breath is how I knock all the barnacles off my ship, me matey!”

Seagull’s wearing a tiny eyepatch!

The ship is not floating in the ordinary sense. It’s more like hovering, so barnacles aren’t a big problem.

“again”?

Gingerbeard – “Have ye any sunscreen on that scurvy boat of yours? I’ve run out.”

“And your little bird, too!”

1. This is a rare instance where Henry the Seagull is acknowledged by the human characters; and, 2. Is Gingerbeard his father-in-law?

This is the first time I can recall that a character refers to Seagull and acknowledged his presence

Aha! The true spelling of the family name!!! <3 <3 <3

Love how Will uses the device of Dad forgetting where he was and Wallace catching him up to bring readers back up to speed on the arc.

Why does ginger beards beard look suspiciously like Mims hair?…

Wait, are we actually acknowledging the seagull?

It’s official. The Seagull is a friend or member of the family.

He’s gonna get a cabin change – from the brig to the poop deck.

Good to know Seagull is an old family friend. Can’t wait to see how Wallace’s mother is involved in the story.

I’m on the edge of my seat. Don’t know how the kids are going to sleep after this story.
