@guyjen2004: “I think China and the USSR have far more skeletons than any western country including the US.”
The US certainly has more than its share, particularly with regard to all the many tribes of Native Americans, but also with lynching in the South and the widespread violent putting down of unions.
There’s also the question of whether something is a “skeleton” if the authorities are not try to hide or disclaim it. If a purge or genocide is openly acknowledged — even bragged about, — does it qualify as a “skeleton”?
Betcha yuan to donuts that the ghost’s sign isn’t in English, or even European characters. (Though that’s not such long odds as it used to be, back when donuts were cheap!).
PS: Chinese folks don’t have a folklore of shakesperian ghosts, so this cartoon is very distinctly from a Euro-centric viewpoint.
As was pointed out on MSNBC. WE still don’t have a full accounting of what was done, how many were tortured and killed, others exiled to prison labor camps afterward. It has been wiped from official histories. But some of the citizens don’t forget and want everyone to know so some of them have been hacking and cracking that American system with censorship protocols instigated by China.

This war we are waging is already lost
The cause for the fighting has long been a ghost
Malice and habit have now won the day
The honours we fought for are lost in the fray

Oh please. They don’t give a rat’s ass about it. Any angst over the massacre is coming from outside official China.
