I think their participation in the Eurovision contest is about as far they’ll ever be able to get into any European organisation.
Until they realise what it is they have become.

Agreed, an enlarged EU including as many countries as possible in economic agreement is about the best chance for continued peace in Europe and why not use it to get peace in the Middle-East?
I’m not sure the Palestinians would want to wait a few more decades though. It’s been 61 years since the Naqba as it is.
Israel would probably be too much of a hot potato for actual membership, though, at least in the foreseeable future. Plus, this also means that there should be a political consensus on expanding the EU beyond what is technically considered Europe. Cyprus was one thing, Israel is another.
It’s not impossible, but not really likely to happen barring huge changes in the political landscape.
