“We need our pawns on the Holy Land so the Big Guy can send his Grand Finale”

Most of americans who rabbidly support Israel are not even jews, they think jews need to be in Palestine so God can send the rapture.

If there is a God, (and I think there is) it is foolish to think you can coerce him (or her, or it) to change his plans because you send someone somewhere.

And that’s not liking jews, that is using them, so don’T call us antisemites.

stealth, I agree to the point that if we stop it for one we should stop it for all. We really do not have the money to give any of them. Besides, we give them (all of them) money and they turn around and laugh and spit at us.

DrC Are you asking, or fishing? I could give an opinion as to why, but I’m sure it would not match yours.

Obama cannot order another country to do anything. How about Obama’s ‘order’ to the Iranians not to beat up their own people? Other national leaders do as suits them.

DrC I have a handle on your perspective. It goes like this “First I am condescending towards the person, then I am dismissive of them”. You have accused me of not reading for content, but I could point to several post where your answers to others make it obvious you are not reading for content either. I do enjoy free and open discussion, what I do not need is a sneering cynic who is looking for trite openings to try and prove their own superiority. If you were truely looking for open and free discussion you would put forth an opinion, and look for rebuttal. Instead you ask questions that are ambush set ups and get frustrated when I refuse to allow you to dissect me first. If you would wish to not ask me a question ever again it will not hurt my feelings, I promise.

Satipera, your words may be true in the short term, but the Yuan is not traded openly and is artificially inflated by the goverment of China. Why do you think that is? I suspect it is because if it were traded openly against the USD it would be devalued and there economic might would be deminished. It is therefore better for them, and consequently us, to keep their currency off the open market. We and they are in an inextricable economic hug. If you truely believe we could not squeeze them econmically then explain why they begged for so long to be included, by The USA, in the World Trade Organization? Then once they were included promptly acted, and continue to act against the rules of said organization. As the worlds most populace nation they have an almost endless supply of motivated workers, but the fractious nature of the country of China shows why they are a long way from ordering us around. It also shows why they rule so brutally and why the average worker in China has to negotiate for their living conditions with the butt end of a military rifle.

America is the biggest econmy in the world and an attempt to grossly devalue the USD would have ramifications well beyond our boarders that would ripple through other nations economies long after we had recovered. In other words they would be cutting their noses off to spite their faces

We would still have much to produce, and much that the world would desire. That is why we would pick ourselves up by the bootstraps and move forward.
