By naming it “Omicron,” they skipped naming this variant “Nu” because of possible confusion with New….. and “Xi” because it would be awkward having the same name as the Chinese president…
Meanwhile, Sweden is now “urging” — not “mandating” — individuals entering Sweden from other countries — including South Africa — to “get tested” soon after arriving.
I hope they’re at least informing those arrivals as they arrivewhere they can get tested immediately.
