Goofy is soooo much smarter.
The major shareholders are INSISTING that the rank&file get back to their jobs! Time’s a’wastin! And TIME is MONEY! (for them!)
Having worked (somewhat briefly) for Disney, I can assure you that their accountants are the ones who make the real decisions… or at least have the most influence with the top bosses. We were treated as indistinguishable bits of profit potential. Not all that badly, but definitely without any sense that they gave a (mouse)’s ass for any one of us.
That is true for most “American?” corporations. Businesses begun by visionaries, artists and craftsmen, as well as others, have lost their soul to profit margin. As an example, Fender no longer cares for the Musician or the outlet where they can play and fall in love with the product. They now sell on line competing with the outlets that helped make them what they were. The brick and mortar store that handles the products ends up, in many cases, as the place for the product to be examined and then purchased for less on the internet. This is true in many product lines and degrades the local economy and personality of the area. Virtual monopolies are allowed by the current government and is actually encouraged in exchange for “election campaign donations”.
Disneyland has been a “Mickey Mouse” operation since 1955 ! Why change now ?
