Russia, even under the old Soviet moniker, has NEVER been more than a third-rate power – a “one-trick” pony as it were.
There was a series of articles in “True” magazine in the late 50s that exposed their soft underbelly – they’ve ALWAYS been able to ONLY do one thing well – if they try to expand into multiple achievements, they would (and did) collapse – this is also true to a lesser extent, of China.
They are like “children” who. coming home from their first day of kindergarten, announcing to ‘Mommy’ that they’re now ready for college.
