I am one of 6 kids and the last to get married and have kids out of the lot. I used to buy the most annoying toys for my little nieces and nephews. A couple of my sibs remembered that when my babies came along :)
Mark Twain had a hilarious tale in “Roughing It” about meeting Brigham Young, who warned him not to give any of his children a gift because they would all want one. He said they chased after a guy who had given the kids penny whistles but he escaped across the state line.
