If you watched the television series “Fringe,” you know the trouble that arises when alternate universes collide. Strange contradictions take place in what we normally perceive as reality. In the puzzling activities surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we see this now.

It is my theory that viruses leak through weak spots between universes. They are small enough to travel into those universes from inter-dimensional interstices. Their weird nature, unlike most of Earth’s organisms, are an obvious sign of alien origin. Most viruses are friendly, but some are evil. Covid-19 is a very evil one.

(They could also be seeded by comets, which could be seen as spermatozoa on a large scale, but that is so far an unformed theory theory of mine. Partial credit for it goes to a certain “Monty Python” movie.)

I realize this is not a proper subject for humor, as confusion and fear grip the entire world. Far be it from me to sell books about it (for further information, see my website “IMNutzberger.org).

But the truth must be told! Nowhere is confusion greater than in the Trump administration’s contradictory reaction to this pandemic. Tom Toles portrays this well in today’s cartoon. (Thanks, Tom — a Medal Freedom may be in your future.)

Through deep mental thinking, I theorize that the White House is a nexus to the alternate universe, or even universes. The chaotic nature of Trump’s management style has widened any inter-dimensional rift, that he continues to make worse.

Interesting little tidbit… log onto “Weather Underground”, and on their local daily forecast, there will be an interactive map starting with your local area, which can be expanded to show reported COVID-19 cases and deaths on a county by county basis up to the entire country.

I’m building a ventilator from an old vacuum cleaner and some plumbing stuff. I’ve asked the wife to be my first volunteer, but she’s strangely reluctant. Maybe I’ll try it on the cat?

But you should all do it fast, show us up. You should all gather in your local town square, save yourself a lot of suffering, make a huge batch of Kool-Aid with cyanide & drink it. The daily briefings from the White House are taking on an uncanny resemblance of those old serials we used to see at the movies. Suspense, cliff-hanging endings, and an urgent appeal to watch the next episode.

Anyone who watches a steady diet of FOX news only believes Trump, no matter what he does or says. Unfortunate, because they are unreachable. There will be no coordinated Federal response to the virus. Begging won’t help. I’m sad for our country.

I think you underestimate the genius of the strategy. Throw out dozens or hundreds of statements about any given topic. One of those statements might come close to the truth, and the admin can say, with perfect hindsight, “We’ve been saying that all along!”

Sort of like the Magic 8 Ball only with more contradictory random statements.
