Reagan and Daddy Bush broke the economy and Clinton came along and, running on “it’s the economy, stupid,” came along and fixed it, turning then-record Reagan/Bush deficits into budget surpluses coupled with peace and prosperity.
Bush Jr inherited the Clinton peace and prosperity and transformed it into terrorism (by missing obvious signs and failing to connect dots), two wars (including invading the wrong country), new record deficits and total economic meltdown.
Obama inherited the Bush debacle of terrorism, wars and economic collapse, mostly wound down the wars, reduced the deficit by two-thirds, and created an all-time record of 84 consecutive monthly job gains.
Trump is still riding the Obama momentum, though we see it slowing, and with new record deficits, job-killing tariffs, and corporate welfare and tax giveaways for the rich to be paid for out of Social Security and Medicaid, we can see the new coming Trump economic meltdown.
Republicans break it. Democrats fix it. It’s what they do.
Also remember that to Republicans, “Compromise” means "Do EXACTLY what WE want, with NO DISCUSSION, or we will accuse you of “obstructionism”, and blame EVERYTHING on you!"
