To quote the indefatigable Dick Cheney: “Deficits don’t matter.”
So we will all see smaller paychecks(well, not the resident lib posters here who don’t actually work) AND nothing has been done to cut spending. Sounds like a big Christmas gift to the Spendocrats, but a big lump of coal to the American people.
Okay, Conserve: liberals don’t have jobs? Good God, you’re obnoxious.
It’s okay to run deficits when the country is in recession, since government spending is historically what gets the economy going again (yes, even under Republican presidents). The trick is not to give away the store in good times, but to pay down the debt by keeping taxes at a level that pay for government services and pay down the debt. It’s not rocket science, but it IS science.
Soooo…. If liberals are s eager to tax, Where did the $80billion in tax credits and subsidies attached to the House’s $9billion in aid for hurricane Sandy rlief come from. I guess the Dems highjacked the bill?
Charlie Tuba: That’s no cantilever, it is diagonally braced..With all the name-calling today, has the list lost any ability at rational discussion? Shame.
Republicans only care about spending when they aren’t inn charge, then its oh soooo evil! But when their man GW was in office he spent like a drunken sailor without one single complaint. Say it with me righties… H-Y-P-O-C-R-A-C-Y
I wish there would be less name-calling on here (and Oliphant) for the New Year. It would be a nice change.
It’ll be more manageable when the GOP is a ‘former’ party. You know, like the Whigs.
Check out the graph on page 22 of the book Remade in the USA. Interesting that our trade deficits also went up wildly during GOP administrations.
There IS a difference between moderate fiscal deficits, and that major mental deficit we called: “Reaganomics”.
