think this is referring to the lenders/bond holders not bothering with following the rules the rest of us have to follow — you know, title searches, filing the necessary paperwork in the counties to establish or transfer ownership, having things notarized. They created a new kind of online clearinghouse to keep track of their madness and decided, on their own, that they could bypass county recorders and other officials responsible for the legality of title holders.

This is a subset of all Wall St. did with their synthetic derivatives — nobody knows for sure who owns the mortgages, that’s why the attempt to renegotiate mortgages hasn’t been successful; who do you negotiate with when it’s all been sliced, diced and resold over and over again?

You know, the Republicans LOVE to try to pin this whole thing on Barney Frank…usually with a very childish comment about him being gay.

But here’s the thing. At the time Frank supposedly did his deed, where were the people who are trying to blame him for the mortgage crisis now? Were they sounding the alarm, was Rush saying, “Frank must be stopped, or the housing market will collapse?”

Nope, they only discovered Frank after the fact.

Because you see, what Frank did was put the the kibosh on an attempt to regulate Fannie and Freddy.

And since when have Republicans had a problem with THAT?

Republicans are in the minority now but still get blamed for stalling “important” legislation to keep it from passing. “Party of NO” anyone???

^Only takes ONE guy ( Tom Coburn held up the Haiti money all by himself. )…and yes they are.

There’s also just a slight difference between blocking legistaltion and passing it

    Dear Spammers:

You’ve got a great idea, but you’re selling the wrong products. Try T-Shirts with pictures of Obama as Lenin and hats that say “All Democrats Are Terrorists!”

You’ll make a fortune off the teabaggers who post to this site..

“Republicans are in the minority now but still get blamed for stalling “important” legislation to keep it from passing”

uh, hate to point out facts here, but the Reps have set an all-time record of holding up bills from even coming to the floor for a vote with notices of intent to filibuster (tho they never have to actually do it) and putting personal “holds” on legislation and confirmation votes. Just takes one Senator to stall and delay and the GOP is doing it with even non-controversial appointments.

    They’re “blamed” because it’s what they’re doing.

BCS,, True! The filibuster or threat has been used to block bills reaching the Senate or originating in the Senate this past 18 months more than in all of the years before.
