Fabrice Tourre: I stand here as the only survivor amidst the crumbling mess of incomprehensible monstrosity I created! But I did nothing wrong. Goldman Sachs: That's my boy! More shorting! Fabulous Fab Cuts Down the Cherry Tree.
By the way, the original Boston Tea Party was as much a revolt against policies favoring the DEIC as anything else. The thing that really irked the colonists was that the company was exempt from the tax, and all the tea that went overboard was company tea.
There was a big difference between the British East India Company and the Dutch East India Company LTD.
The {British} East India Trading Company was given a monopoly on all trade carried on by the colonies in America.
It is ironic that the “Tea Party” is using this metaphor as the reason for their existence. The ultra right-wing corporations owned by the Koch brothers has funneled most of the money for the buses, signs etc. for the purpose of blaming the Obama administration for the national debt and the deficit.
There is little that the transnational corporations support for the current Tea Parties resembles with the historic fight against the monopolistic East India Trading Company.

I think you mean Dutch East India Company.
By the way, the original Boston Tea Party was as much a revolt against policies favoring the DEIC as anything else. The thing that really irked the colonists was that the company was exempt from the tax, and all the tea that went overboard was company tea.
It was also a revolt against corporatism.
