“The kids look so cute going to work in their Oshkosh’bgosh overalls and their BTS lunchboxes. As long as they’re poor or better yet migrant children, it’s all good. They have to learn to make it on their own like Great Trump did.”
The issue is a demographic one. People have been saying it would hit when the “boomers” retired. Most everyone knew this was coming. Covid accelerated that process. The GOP seems to think having kids work more is the response. Be careful of unintended consequences. When even fewer enter trades, professions, etc., will you find comfort in the extra profits for business and the cheaper products for consumers?
The answer SHOULD be a serious restructuring of immigration/foreign worker laws. Both parties seem to be content with immigration remaining red meat for their base, so I won’t hold my breath.
If they get the general public used to the idea now, then when all those unwanted orphans are old enough (say, 10 or 11) there will be a huge new pool of labor. It’s a plot.
republicans want more unwanted and unloved children to restock human traffickers and their open child labor companies/corporations in the U.S. with their anti-abortion Epstein support laws!

These future Dreamers need to do something while waiting to be old enough to vote.

For too many in GOP, this represents “Family Values.”

Instead of addressing the real wage problem, corporate greed, Repubs are using child labor to keep wages and minimum wage down.

What’s the big deal?
Using child labor makes more money for the corporation or enterprise using them. And there is a bonus of suppressing wages in general.
What’s not to like?
