I don’t get it, is IKEA furniture supposedly hard to put together? I have assembled many things from IKEA, the instructions are textless line drawings that are simple to follow.

If Humpty was made by Lego it would have been a snap!

Why did Humpty Dumpty have a great fall?

To make up for a lousy summer.

I think it is too late for poor Humpty.

The only thing you can do now is sweep up the shell pieces, and make scrambled egg(s) of the rest.

Years ago, when Peter Jackson announced that he was splitting the much shorter THE HOBBIT into the same amount of movies as LORD OF THE RINGS, someone suggested breaking it into many more parts including GALADRIEL PICKS A DRESS FOR THE DAY. The one I and my friends decided we’d watch was THE DWARFS ASSEMBLE AN IKEA BOOKCASE.

Might it also have something to do with the fact that they are all men and we are notoriously bad about not reading directions?

I’ve never understood the “IKEA is hard to put together” trope. If you can understand Lego instructions, you can understand IKEA instructions.

Anything done by committee is more expensive, takes looonger and does resemble the design. I.E.: The camel is a horse designed by a committee.

My mom had a Pyrex coffee percolator that she loved. The night of my high school graduation my parents, my oldest sister (who played in the band), and I went and then had dinner out. My youngest sister stayed home. When we got home my mom called her into the kitchen and pointed to her prized coffee pot that had been meticulously scotched tape together out of many broken pieces. My dad kept it on display for several weeks.

I think the Ill will toward IKEA relates to paying money to do half (or all) the work yourself. Similar to those easy to follow instructions for toys on Christmas Eve. It has nothing to do with the wonderful ness of the instructions or your wonderful skills.

Apparently, nobody here understands why they’re having so much trouble. They’re trying to assemble it in broad daylight, but they’re the knight crew.
