For a period of time GoComics had “exiled” me from their Comments sections, deleting every entry or response I had ever written and allowing only me to see any new Comments I made during that period. Eventually, with the intervention of Mr. Melcher, my “banishment” ended and the vast majority of what had been deleted was restored. This Masterpiece (#3139) is the first of eleven which, for reasons unknown to me, were not restored. I was able to reconstruct (or copy from Steve’s blog) a few entries for the last three paintings, but I can’t remember much of what I had written for the first eight. I’ve decided to try to rewrite at least one entry for each of them, and the first one is below:
