/// Fleur returned to the doorway to spy

on that strangely unmoving young guy.

    A “Performance Art” show,

    or waxwork by Tussaud?

Is he paralyzed, and, if so, why?

Those guys have been transfixed like that all football season.

The really sad thing is that this was before football was even invented.

note: this works for football on either side of the Atlantic

I wonder what was in that punch. The doorway seems so much bigger now and I can barely keep my balance. AND HE looks REALLY cute. My, it’s getting warm in this frock.

Veronica was disappointed. This whole voyeurism fetish wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Alec knew his mother was waiting for him to leave his room to pepper him with all kinds of questions about his new girlfriend.

The artist had no idea – he sat uninspired in dismay/

    He faced the Salon/

(Where it’s always “game on” !)

To compete with Seurat and Monet…///

When Suzanne wandered into his vision/

In a garment of blinding white/

    Whenever she’s there/

    She lifts his despair,/

For she sets the atelier alight !///

And he rushed to his brushes and canvas/

    Lest his idea go astray/

    For from sunshine to gloom/

    It’s a different room/

At different times of the day..

I think it’s obvious that She / Has quite a fixation on He. / But He’s blissfully unaware / Of She languishing by the chair. / On the tides of romance, they’re both lost at sea.

The Studio of Ingres in Rome

is the title of both works, both painted in the same year, depicting the same people.

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alaux_Atelier_Ingres_2eme_version.jpg

    and

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alaux_Atelier_Ingres_Montauban.jpg

provide info (best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most webpages if necessary) and links that point to more info about both roughly jumbo envelope size paintings.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by merely (⌘- or Ctrl-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s THROWBACK THURSDAY: MASTERPIECE #1683 (4/10/17) (August 10, 2022) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment. I have added a comment there pointing to the artist info I used to point to here. So far 2 works, by this artist, have been used here (in a single strip, now shown twice, including this Throwback Thursday repeat), the April 10, 2017, strip being their first use (the 21 hyperlinks in my comment there have been deactivated, and the line breaks removed, but perhaps the text remains informative).

    Everyone knew that Pierre/

    Was collecting fresh p*b1c hair/

    But only a few/

    Of his closest friends knew/

That he kept it under that chair.

He was planning to weave a mat/

But keeping it under his hat/

    Til the big “reveal”:/

    When he’d storm the Bastille/

Or perhaps he would paint the Grand Jatte..///

But waited too long for that coup/

So instead he painted a few/

    Of his famed Odalisques/

    Thus avoiding the risks/

    Of trying anything new..

Ishmael has conflated Auguste Renoir (of the chubby nudes in the water) with Auguste Dominique Ingres, of the chubby harem girls (Odalisques). Who cares – not I…

It is funny that this series are screenshots from Word with spell checker squiggles on them.
