I think Ted’s talking about the absurdity of the Republican rhetoric of allowing states to be “laboratories of Democracy”.
The idea that anyone’s rights should change depending on what state you live in is the antithesis of the American Project, as I believe it should be. Either your gay marriage is recognized in 50 states, or it’s not. Either you can abort an unwanted pregnancy, or one that’s gone horrifically wrong, or not.
Of course, most of the people crossing the border into Texas move on to other states, where they have people. They idea that Texas, let alone Florida are bearing a burden is pure bs. I do want to know if DeSantis supports deporting Cubans who slog through the Darien Gap to arrive at the border to claim asylum.
I do wish we could vote all the arrogant partisans, out of office, and replace them with competent non-partisans willing to work together to solve the problems the opposing parties blame each other for … while actually doing nothing to create pragmatic solutions.
Wow, this comic fills me with hope. It inspires me and assures me with its positive message of compassion and determination that liberal values and progressiveism will overcome all barriers.
Bottom line, no matter how incompetent, racist, misogynistic, ignorant, stupid, and evil members of the Republican Party have consistently proven themselves to be, people like Ted Rall have demonstrated they will still vote for Republicans to control their lives and the country. WTF?
I’m going to take Abbott’s and DeSantis’s lead. I have old paint, oil, stains and other chemicals I don’t need. I can drive them across the state line and dump them in Michigan. Ohio is closer, but I grew up there and will always be a Buckeye.

If you chase problems around for long enough, maybe they’ll melt away.

Maybe, I’m being overly charitable, since Ted doesn’t seem invested in preserving the United States as an ongoing thing.

Prosecutors don’t send anyone to execution-only a judge and jury can do that. Duh: Law 101.

Last panel is completely inaccurate, as California will allow entry for purposes of having an abortion. Oh, it’s Ted. Never mind.

So why did the Biden administration ship them to Conservative states in the first place?
